What is Swarna Bindu Prashana?

Swarna Bindu Prashana is a safe and effective technique of immunizing children practiced by ayurvedic therapists at renowned institutions like Vrikshakalpa Ayurveda. It is given to children from their birth up to the age of 16 years to help them keep a healthy state of mind and body. Swarna Bindu Prashana helps to improve various areas of the brain such as IQ, intelligence, memory, etc. It also helps to improve the digestive power and increase immunity in children and therefore leads to holistic growth.

The effects of Swarna Bindu Prashana can be enhanced by consuming Chyavanprash, Indukantham ghee, Abhrak Bhasma, etc. However, it would be best to ask the doctor or institutional therapist before consuming any supplements.

Swarna Bindu Prashana is one of the sixteen ancient ayurvedic practices or Sanskaras mentioned under ancient pediatrics texts. It can be traced back to the Ghrya Sutras and Manusmriti and has references in Kashayapa Samhita or Vridha Jeevaka Tantra prior to 600 BC. In the modern-day scenario, this process requires giving gold ash mixed with ghee and honey supported by arka. The arka is usually an herbal extract such as Vacha, Brahmi, Shankupushpi, etc. This mixed is orally given to children up to the age of 16 years.

The practice of Swarna Bindu Prashana is also useful for children with autism, difficulties in learning, a disorder of attention deficit, hyperactivity, delayed milestones, etc. Also, since it is an ayurvedic treatment, therefore, it can be done daily up to a period of 6 months. Optionally, it can be practice monthly once the child is in pushya nakshatra up to the age of 16 years.

Moreover, Vrikshakalpa Ayurveda recommends that Swarna Bindu Prashana should only be done by trained and experienced ayurvedic therapists or doctors. This is because they will have the correct knowledge about the recommended procedure and will suggest the apt duration for a child. A trained Swarna Bindu Prashana therapist will also keep in the parents in the loop about their child’s brain prognosis.

Parents should make sure that the child who has received the treatment eats food only 30 minutes after the treatment. Also, it would be best if the patient can avoid junk food on the same day. Swarna Bindu Prashana is also known as Swarna Amruta Prashana, Swarna Prashana, Swarna Prashan, Swarn Prashan, or Suvarna Prashan. Therefore, parents shouldn’t get confused about the name of the treatment.
